Group Reformer Pilates Classes

Anyone, no matter their fitness level, can benefit from Pilates- from those currently not exercising or slowed down by nagging injuries to elite athletes. This workout is tailored to you. Every exercise is performed with attention to breath, proper form and efficient movement patterns. The focus is to help you move better so benefits are felt in everyday life.

Why Pilates? Unlike other workouts, Pilates is a mind-body workout that focuses on developing core strength and eliminating muscle imbalances. You’ll get stronger, more sculpted muscles AND gain flexibility. As your posture improves, you’ll stand taller and gain a better sense of well being.

Greene Room offers two different levels of group pilates reformer classes throughout the week.

ALIGN & RENEW (Level 1) This class is perfect for beginners who would like to work on or continue to build a solid pilates practice. The main focus of this class is to work on alignment, breath and form so that you get the most out of your workout. This class targets core strength, coordination and balanced muscle development. Expect to move your body in all planes of motion and mobilize your spine in flexion, rotation, lateral flexion and extension. You’ll leave feeling open in the body and mind, but also feeling like you got a great workout. Ideal for ALL fitness abilities.

AVAILABLE GROUP CLASS TIMES FOR ALIGN & RENEW

STRENGTHEN & EMPOWER (Level2)  This class is more of an athletic reformer approach where we combine classic reformer pilates exercises with more traditional exercises such as squats, lunges and planks, all done with the moving reformer bed to increase overall intensity. Props such as a pilates jump board, a pilates box, a playground ball, the magic circle, the pilates arc or less traditional pilates props like a resistance band or bosu ball will often times be added in to create a deeper stability and endurance challenge. This is intended for the student with an understanding of the pilates principals and who is looking for a bit of a more upbeat and dynamic class. You will tone, sculpt and strengthen your muscles in ways you never thought possible. This class is exciting, innovative and results-driven. It combines the muscle lengthening, core targeting, fluid sequences you love about classical pilates with the right amount of intensity, creativity, and ‘push you to your limits' in this whole body sculpting class. Be prepared to work hard, see results and leave feeling empowered to do more of what you love to do in life. Depending on prior pilates background and athletic ability, at least a few ALIGN & RENEW classes is extremely beneficial to take before jumping into this more advanced class.

Private/ Duet Pilates

A tailored approach

Custom made workout for you body today. Allows for a great deal of personal attention.

Private instruction allows for you to work on building a fitness regime tailored to your needs, whether you are brand new to Pilates or a seasoned veteran.

Duets instruction allows for more attention to form and detail than in a larger class size but at a reduced cost from a private session. Added benefit of working out with a partner which can be more motivating and fun but in a more personal atmosphere.


Barre

A low-impact total body workout set to upbeat music to help keep you motivated!  We utilize the ballet barre for balance and the yoga mat for floor work, performing small isometric movements aimed to lift the booty and tighten and tone the thighs, arms and abs.  Come burn fat and shred calories!
